Sponsorship Opportunities

The 2017 Stawell Gift offers a unique opportunity to be associated with an historic and iconic Australian sporting event that has a regional community focus and an international profile and reach.

Forever popular, the Stawell Gift provides national exposure via a live telecast on the Seven Network and significant coverage across all media forms, along with creating outstanding business development and targeted brand awareness opportunities.

In 2010, the Stawell Athletic Club commissioned independent marketing analyst, Repucomm, to review the Stawell Gift including media coverage and value of the sponsorship investments. One of their key findings was that the Gift delivers up to seven-times return on investment for event sponsors, including support sponsors.

SPONSORSHIP OPTIONS

The Gift sponsorship program is structured around race properties in the most part. The higher profile races often attract better credentialed athletes and are conducted within the live television timeslot. These races are assigned to major sponsors who sit in the second tier, immediately after the naming rights sponsor.

Other feature races are not televised and are therefore presented for a lower sponsorship investment. The starting price for race sponsorships is $3,000 + GST per annum.

In addition there are other identified carnival activities and properties which are suited towards specific sponsor categories. Current properties that are available include:

  • Family Day
  • Little Athletics Clinic
  • Regional Schools Program
  • Big Screen

SPONSORSHIP BENEFITS

The benefits package is designed to match the value of the sponsorship investment. The sponsorship income ultimately covers the prizemoney on offer for the assigned race, and contributes towards the overall running costs of the carnival.

The types of benefits include:

  • Designation as an official sponsor of the event, and recognition as an event partner
  • Naming rights sponsorship of a race (or property) with exclusive sponsor branding on the race singlet’s of all participants
  • Logo recognition via TV graphics, printed collateral, event advertising and media backdrop (top tier sponsors)
  • Sponsor representative to present trophy to winner of the sponsored race
  • Perimeter signage at a level to be determined by investment (signage to be provided by sponsor)
  • Sponsor recognition, message and link on the Stawell Gift website – www.stawellgift.com
  • Advertisement in the official event program (artwork to be produced by sponsor).
  • Public address announcements at Central Park on each day of the carnival
  • Invitations to attend the sponsor and VIP hospitality function – the President’s Function (held on Easter Monday)
  • General admission passes to the event (for use at sponsor’s discretion)
  • The opportunity to distribute and sample products or display or sell sponsor products at Central Park over the three days of the carnival
