To celebrate the extension of the Champions Parade, the Official Opening of the Women’s Gift Winners stones will take place in Stawell on Easter Monday, 28th March 2016.

The Women’s Gift commemorative stones, proudly sponsored by Crocodile Gold Corp. (now Newmarket Gold, owner of the Stawell Gold Mines) was made possible through a donation to the Stawell Athletic Club. With the assistance of the Northern Grampians Shire Council, the Stawell Athletic Club have placed stone plaques created by Mellor Monumental beneath the established golden ash trees which line Stawell’s Upper Main Street. The plaques celebrate the achievements of each of the past 27 winners of the Women’s Gift. The instalment is set to become a new attraction for tourists, family and friends of past runners.

Also in attendance of the ceremony will be Cr Murray Emerson, Northern Grampians Shire Council and David Coe, Environment & Community Manager of Newmarket Gold Stawell Gold Mines.

The ceremony will take place in Upper Main Street, approximately 100m uphill from the Stawell Athletic Club Hall of Fame on Monday, 28 March at 9.30am.
