A career of running and coaching combined with outstanding success over a period of 30 years.
Peterson proved to be a capable distance runner, winning the Federation Handicap in 1954 at Stawell, then placing fourth in the 75 yards A. Postle Handicap in 1957, followed by a win in 1958.
Still competing with enthusiasm in 1984, he won the Veterans” Handicap, 1600m.
He turned his hand to coaching with 14 wins, 4 seconds and four third placings – the results of his coaching speaking for themselves.
