PAUL SINGLETON
HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE 2021
Two times Australian 90 metre beach sprint champion, Paul Singleton enjoyed considerable success at Stawell.
In 1983 he ran second in the Stawell Gift, but the following year on a wet track he won both the Gift and the Arthur Postle 70 metres.
His third Gift Final was in 1995 when he came 3rd. He also ran 3rd in the Hank Neil Sportsman’s Handicap in 2002.
Singleton, along with Chris Perry and John Dinan, was one of the first three professional athletes to be reinstated back into the amateur ranks.
