Mark Hipworth
Mark Hipworth won his first sashes at Stawell in 1981 when he took out the 550/800m double & came third in the 400m. In 1984 he ran third in the Stawell Gift but then concentrated on distance events, winning the 3200m in both1993 & 1994.
Altogether he had 4 wins, 3 seconds & 7 thirds, with his most recent success coming in 2011 when he ran second in the Women’s & Veterans 1600m
As a trainer his runners have won 28 finals at Stawell & come second 55 times & third on 77 occasions.
